RE-HEATING INSTRUCTIONS

BBQ Ribs

·      Preheat the oven to 160c

·      Remove ribs from package

·      Place ribs in an ovenproof tray

·      Pour boiling water over the top of the ribs and so there is a good pool of water in the tray. (the aim is to have the hot water steam the ribs hot and not to cook the ribs any further)

·      Cover with 2 layers of tin foil.

·      Place the ribs in the oven for 20-30mins

·      While this is reheating, take The Aussie Smoker Signature BBQ Sauce (or what you happen to have) and in a bowl mix in the BBQ Sauce, some water and apple cider vinegar (if you have it)

·      Carefully remove the tray

·      Carefully remove the foil- the steam will burn.

·      Spoon whatever juices are in the tray over the ribs

·      Pour your BBQ sauce mix over the ribs

·      Return the tray to the oven uncovered for 10-20mins- you are just waiting for the sauce to caramelize.

·      Carefully remove from the oven- let it rest for 5-10mins and get messy!

Pulled Pork & Pulled Beef Cheeks

·      Preheat oven to 160c

·      Remove the meat from its package, scrapping everything stuck to it -that’s extra flavor

·      Put into an ovenproof dish

·      Pour over boiling water

·      Put in the oven uncovered for 15mins

·      Removed from the oven and stir

·      Place back in the oven for another 10-15mins or until piping hot.

The pork can also be warmed up by placing it in a dry frypan on a high heat and adding hot water if it starts to dry out.

 Pull Your Own Pork

·      Preheat the oven to 160c

·      Remove the pork from its packaging

·      Place in a deep ovenproof dish

·      If you do not have a dish deep enough, cut the pork so it will fit

·      Pour over boiling water to cover the pork

·      Wrap in 2 layers of foil

·      Be careful when removing the foil as the steam released will burn

·      Place in the oven for 2-3hrs or until you can easily pull it with 2 forks but DO NOT pull it all.

·      Put the foil back on and let it rest for 20mins (trust me)

·      Now gather the family and get pulling.

·      At this point, you can make this your own family creation or just keep it as it is.

·      At the Aussie Smoker, we add salt, apple cider vinegar, tinned apples, and tinned tomatoes.

RISSOLES

An Aussie Family Classic. Think of a cross between a burger and meatloaf

·      Preheat the oven to 160c.

·      Put a frying pan on a high heat

·      Add a teaspoon of oil.

·      When the oil is hot, carefully place the rissoles in the frypan. The aim is not to cook them through but to get a little crisp on the outside.

·      Flip when there are a little crisp and repeat.

·      When both sides are done, place into the oven for 10-15mins.

·      Remove from the oven and rest for 2-5mins.

ANZACs

So, these are raw, I have kept them this way because as a child one of my greatest memories is eating the dough raw!

If you did manage to not eat them all raw, they are simple to cook:

1.     Oven at 180c.

2.     Place balls spaced out on some grease-proof paper, on an oven tray.

3.     Press balls slightly. Note: due to the cold this may be difficult so after a few minutes in the oven remove the tray and press the balls with the back of a soup spoon.

4.     Bake for 10- 12mins until golden brown.

5.     Allow to cool before eating.

Fairy Bread

·      Get white bread

·      Butter it

·      Sprinkle over the 100 and 1000s and press into the butter

·      Cut into triangles

·      Eat and be a kid again!
